Forney, a city with a rich history, has its roots deeply intertwined with the development of Texas itself. The area was first settled in the mid-1800s and was originally known as Brooklyn. It was not until 1873 that the name was officially changed to Forney, in honor of the influential railroad official, John W. Forney. The advent of the Texas and Pacific Railway marked a turning point in Forney's growth, as it brought connectivity and opportunities for trade and commerce.

Throughout the years, Forney has weathered its fair share of challenges, but its resilience has always shone through. The city's agricultural heritage, centered around cotton and other crops, played a crucial role in its early development. As time progressed, Forney evolved into a bustling community with diverse industries, from manufacturing to retail, adding to its economic strength.
